Projects - Producing and Session Work

Here are just some of the projects I've worked on as either a producer or session guitarist.
I'll add more as I dig them up.

The Zoe Project

This was a 4 song demo that Jeff and I did in the spring of 1998.

This was the first project I did as a producer.

Here are clips of the 2 songs that I wrote.

Choices

John

I have no idea how to spell this guys last name. Using phonics it would be something like "Yoo-Bel-Har"

This was my first session job. I played on 4 tracks. 3 made the album. I was supposed to co-produce this project, but he stiffed me on the credits.

I doubt I'll include sound clips becuase I hated what I did. Again... Its session work. As long as the customer is happy.

Kathryn Currie - No Matter What Comes

This was the first full length CD project I produced.  As producer, I was able to have a lot of creative input on the project. I pulled in several musician friends to add the needed touches. I also played several different instruments on this including: 12 String guitar, lead guitar, string arrangements, dijeridoo, and a percussion instrument called a Bali Kul-Kul.

I was really happy with how this turned out. Kathryn wrote some really good songs and the musicians we used did a fantastic job.

Threshold

This was another full length CD prjoject that I produced in the summer of 2007. The lead singer and guitar player wrote everything and played most of the guitars. He was great to work with. He was open to any ideas and just wanted a good product.

I played lead guitar on one track (listen to the clip) but apart from that didn't do any session work. They totally botched the credits and listed me as executive producer and said, "Tracy Stiles played some guitar on "All I Want". I felt a bit jipped on that but, apart from that and apart from trying to work with a very difficult "alleged" lead guitar player who we had to edit the crap out of and piece together parts to get a good track... it went pretty well. No, seriously... I was happy with the final product. Great back up singers and solid musicians. Well, most of them.

All I want

Sound Check

Dave Foreback (drums), Jim Regan (bass), and I were in the studio here a while back working on my CD. Jeff needed to get a level check and just told us all to play so he could get the levels right. I had just put my guitar on and hadn't warmed up or played a single note. Dave and Jim just started plalying and I jumped in and this his what happened. Not planned, totally spontaneous.
